A Freckle Book presents a specific disability such as Autism or Down
Syndrome in a story-like format which helps typical children
understand common characteristics of that disability. The books help
young children learn to accept and enjoy their special needs peers.
Within each Freckle Book are reference pages intended to educate
parents, teachers, and group leaders on the disability. Resource pages
with special needs organizations and websites are also included in the
books.
The Freckle Book series is appropriate for teachers and leaders to read
aloud to groups of primary aged children. These stories will be an
effective way to explain that these children want to be treated the
same as everyone else!
